Reynard Castle writes mythic speculative fiction. A father and a coach, he lives as an expatriate among the green hills of Ireland, a long way from where he began.

He has loved fantasy, mythology, philosophy, and history for as long as he can remember. The Drakatharun Saga grew from a world first imagined around a table more than twenty years ago — a set of campaigns played with old friends, argued over, expanded, and never quite put down. The books are, in part, a letter back to those friends and to the hours spent building worlds together.

His work returns again and again to the same preoccupations: courage and loyalty, empire and freedom, memory and metaphysics, and the cost of power. He writes slowly, and prefers it that way.
