A world worth returning to is rarely built quickly. The first saga on the Fenmark list began around a table more than twenty years ago and has been argued over, expanded, and refined ever since.

That long gestation is not an apology; it is the method. Depth cannot be retrofitted. A history that feels real was usually lived with for a long time before it was written down. In the months ahead we will share a little of how that world came to be — carefully, and without spoiling what the books are for.
